William Gibson: Neuromancer

funny that it took me so long to dip into this one: William Gibson's "Neuromancers". one of the key words of the story became legend: "cyberspace". also included: the "matrix".

or, to quote the wiki take: "The novel tells the story of a washed-up computer hacker hired by a mysterious employer to work on the ultimate hack. Gibson explores artificial intelligence, virtual reality, genetic engineering, and multinational corporations overpowering the traditional nation-state long before these ideas entered popular culture."

i came across the first line a month ago already, when reading the book on storylines: "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel." / "Der Himmel über dem Hafen hatte die Farbe eines Fernsehers, der auf einen toten Kanal geschaltet war."
