lonesome and surreal

2 moments from this week:

lonesome
giant lonely wind turbines on the side of the road, turning in the October wind.
they reminded me of Edward Hopper's paintings: out there, moving forever in the same place.

surreal
this is at Frankfurt Book Fair: i listened to some live radio interviews and features from the bookfair while driving. it was fascinating to later see the stations right at the bookfair, and the interview live on stage - and to also see it filmed, with the tv broadcast right up on the monitor at the edge of the stage: reality and media reality crossing over, which gives both a slightly surreal touch.
